Counselling in Eastbourne, Brighton and Hove
Hello, my name is Alison Briggs. I am a qualified Humanistic Counsellor in East Sussex offering counselling in Eastbourne, Brighton and Hove. Please note that I use the terms counselling and therapy interchangeably on this website.
You may be struggling to cope with an upsetting or challenging situation. You may face problems in your relationships or be overwhelmed with feelings of anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem or loneliness. Alternatively you may be interested in self-development more broadly. These are just some of the reasons people decide to see a counsellor or therapist but there are many more.
What I offer
I offer a respectful relationship where we can look together at what is concerning you. I aim to listen and explore alongside you, supporting you to become more self-aware and make your own decisions. Find out more about the way I work as a humanistic counsellor here.
Areas of interest
I work with clients on many different issues but am especially interested in the difficulties and opportunities presented by life in our modern world with all its technological advances. I have a particular interest in the feelings of loneliness that many of us can experience at any age, whether that be feeling isolated, disconnected or alienated from others.
Loneliness in our society can sometimes have a stigma attached to it, and we may feel a sense of shame or failure as a result, making it harder to admit to others that we are feeling this way. Counselling can be one way of exploring these and other feelings in a safe space.
I am also interested in the way we respond to and deal with uncertainty and change at different stages in our lives.
I offer counselling in central Eastbourne, Brighton and Hove:
